Show , ASUU candidate eligibility defined ' All persons intending to run for the ffice of assemblyman for the Associated Students of the University of Utah ASUU) must be fully matriculated in a najor of the college from which he is banning to run by Jan. 20, according to Jruce Hancey, student adviser and chair-nan chair-nan of the election committee, i Hancey said that a computer readout of the majors in each college will be made as soon as possible after Jan. 20 to determine eligibility of candidates. Fully Matriculated He also said that students must be fully matriculated in a major of the college from which they are planning to vote by the same date. Those who try to vote from a college other than their major will be referred to the proper college. Hancey said that changing a major is a very simple process. "The only thing required re-quired is that the student fill out a form at Dean Oakley Gordon's office, 304 Park Bldg," he said. "There is no need to visit the departments or colleges." No Exception No exception can be made to this rule since the election will be computerized and the computer will not be able to process a vote from a student from another college. Hancey also pointed out that the minimum mini-mum number of quarter hours required to run for ASUU president has been changed from 72 hours to 60 hours. "This is due to the election being held a month earlier than expected when the ruling was made," he added. No Less Than 2.0 Candidates must have a cumulative grade point average of no less than 2.0 and have paid their ASUU activity fees. Candidates for the office of senior class president must have a minimum of 90 hours and a maximum of 140 hours, and must be classified as seniors during the fall quarter following the election. |
