Show AbravaneL Symphony Schedule Contemporary Music Festival Three campus box offices open Wednesday for the Fifth Annual University Festival of Contemporary Music which will be held Friday, Nov. 8, at 8:30 p.m. in Kingsbury Hall. TWO EXCITING Prokofieff masterpieces, never before played in Salt Lake City, will be performed by the Utah Symphony under the baton of Maestro Maurice Abravanel, musical director and conductor of the symphony. Stravinsky's "Petrouchka" will round out a challenging chal-lenging program co-sponsored by the ASUU and the Utah Symphony. Students and faculty may present their activity cards for reserved seats for Friday's concert at the following centes: Spencer Hall Auditorium Aud-itorium Lobby, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.; Music Hall 201, 8 a.m. to 12 p.m., 1 to 5 p.m ; and Extension Division, Divi-sion, 107 Annex, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The box offices will be open Wednesday, Wed-nesday, Thursday and Friday. Students coming in groups or bringing dates should present activity ac-tivity cards together in order to obtain adjacent seating. Students without activity cards or bringing bring-ing dates without activity cards may obtain adjoining seats for $1. THE PROGRAM will be repeated or Saturday evening. The second concert in the 1963-64 1963-64 festival is scheduled in January, Janu-ary, with program yet to be announced. MAESTRO ABRAVANEL . . . sets contemporary concert |
