The Thompsons have returned to their home town after living in Milford for a year. Mrs. C. T. Martin left last week for Texas to visit her son and family, Mr. and Mrs. Bob Martin. Mr. and Mrs. Recoy Roth are moving to Wendover. Mr. Roth, who has been section line man for the AT&T, has been transferred trans-ferred to Wendover and E. K. Friar is here to replace him. Mr. and Mrs. Friar and small daughter Batty are now living in Milford. Marie Baxter is at home visiting vis-iting her parent, Mr. and Mrs. Max Baxter, and other relatives and friends. THE AMERICAN LEGION AUXILIARY held its regular monthly meeting on Monday, March 19th, at the home of Mrs. Erma Cline. Before the meeting meet-ing Girls State candidates Gayle Edwards, Ethel Cook, Sally Edwards Ed-wards and Margaret Root spoke briefly to the group on why they would like to attend Girls State. Hostesses Erma Cline and Magdalena White served a salad course, hot rolls and coffee to the following members and guests: Ida Smith, Letha Smyth, Metta Weston, Nina Bingham, Pat Williams, Mary Long, Jer-rie Jer-rie Kirk, Retha Campeau, Grace Jefferson, Cleo Labrum, Margaret Mar-garet Root, Ethel Cook, Sally Edwards and Gayle Edwards. Mrs. W. G. White joined her husband in Las Vegas recently, for a visit with a granddaughter and family, Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Collins. A BIRTHDAY surprise party was given in honor of Mrs. La-j La-j mar Grimshaw Tuesday eve-i eve-i ning, with the following friends enjoying the occasion: Mr. and Mrs. Homer Christensen, Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Edwards, Mr. and Mrs. Clinton Bond, Mr. and Mrs. Armon Whiting, Mr. and Mrs. Dick Banks, Mrs. Edna Nichols, Mrs. Mae Carter, and Mr. Grimshaw. After an evening of games, pie a la mode was served. SEGO LILY Division No. 300 held their meeting March 15th at the home of Mrs. Lois Moore, with Mrs. Moore and Mrs. Kate McDonald as hostesses. Bridge was the evening's entertainment. en-tertainment. . The prizes -were received by Mrs. Wanda Holm, Mrs. Marvel Connell, Mrs. Gladys Shingleton and Mrs. Vera Cooper. Other members present included in-cluded Mrs. Katherine Shingleton, Shingle-ton, Mrs. Virginia Fowles, Mrs. Garnet Garfield, Mrs. Florence Barnes, Mrs. Garnetta Hollis and Mrs. Margaret Root. MRS. CREE ELMER and Mrs. Verna Tomsik were hostesses to the Ella Stancliff Past Noble Grands Club oi' Wednesday evening, eve-ning, March 14th, at the home of Mrs. Elmer, Mrs. Nelouise Schow, club president, conducted the business busi-ness meeting, after which a delicious de-licious fruit salad, nut bread and coffee were served by Mrs. Elmer and Mrs. Tomsik. 19 members were present to enjoy the evening. Mr. and Mrs. Ben H. (Sonny) Briscoe are now living in Min-ersville Min-ersville in the basement apartment apart-ment of Mr. and Mrs. Truman Bradfield. Sonny is employed by the Union Pacific. |
