Show purchased the Motor Inn building build-ing on Main Street from D. E. Kirk, and plan to open a candy and malt shop after remodeling. Mr. and Mrs. Bruno Maffei and daughter are in Miliord, living in one o'f the Tri-State Mr. and Mrs J. M. Hughes are back in Milford after a two-week two-week trip to Twenty Nine Palms, Calif. They also enjoyed a trip to Palm Springs. Mrs. Wilma Spring and sons I Louie, Steven and Dale, of I Moab, were week end visitors at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Roper. Mr. I Spring is employed in a uraiv I ium mine at Monb. I Personal MenHon ' Word has been received that Mrs. Trudy Jefferson has been admitted to a hospital at Fort Knox, Ky., seriously ill. ACter undergoing an operation she is convalescing satisfactorily. Mrs. Virginia Davis and twin daughters, Dorothy and Julia, J have returned from a two week ' trip to Coon Rapids, Iowa, where she stayed at the home j of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. I. G. Crystal. Other 'relatives and j friends visited her while she I was there, and all were anxious to see the Davis twins. Mrs. Davis also was a guest at the homes of her brothers, John and Jim, in Scranton, Iowa. Arthur F. Symond of Mikona, Wise., is here, a guest at the home of his son and daughter in law, Dr. and Mrs. David A. Symond. Mrs. Symond drove homes on 500 West Street. Mr. I Maffei is replacing Clarence McWhorter as testboard supervisor super-visor for the AT&T. Mr. and Mrs. Powell Smyth and Mr. and Mrs. John Weston were in Cedar City Saturday. Mrs. Mabel Turner and daughter, Mrs. Jerry Kirk, spent three days in Salt Lake last week end. They were guests of Mrs. Turner's sister, Mrs. A. J. -Jensen. The two ladies also visited other relatives and friends while in the Capitol City. Vernon Gronning is now living liv-ing in California. Mrs. Ada Jane Rogers and two children of Reno are spend- ing a few days with Mrs. Rog- I ers' mother, Mrs. Margaret Ma- I honey. I her father in law to Zion and Bryce National Parks Wednesday. Wednes-day. Mrs. Richard Jefferson and two children have returned to Milford. 3 Mr. and Mrs. Heber Myers left early this month for Stockton. Stock-ton. Calif., to be with their son DeWayne while he underwent an operaiton. Mr. Myers returned re-turned to Milford, sand Mrs. Myers remained for a longer visit. The College of Southern Utah Institute of Religion presented the program at joint First and Second Ward sacrament meeting meet-ing Sunday evening. President Paul B. Felt and Aaron Hansen of Cedar City were principal speakers, and Mrs. Hansen also spoke. Mrs. Ruth Lish cared for the Hansen's two children, Erin and three-month-old Ruth Ann. during the meeting. M. and Mrs Dick Banks have Visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Dave Erickson the past week were Mrs. Erickson's parents, par-ents, Mr. and Mrs. William Sharp and a sister of Ogden. The group was en route to Los Angeles and will again stop in Milford on their way home. 9 Mr. and Mrs. Dan Gillies' and children of Salt Lake were here this week end at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Sam Cline. The Gillies also visited with the S. A. Zabriskie, Claude Horton, and Bruno Maffei families. Visiting at the John H. Walker Walk-er home is Mrs. Walker's mother, moth-er, Mrs. W. B. Wallace of Salt Lake City. Mrs. Wallace is en route home after visiting in California with other children. Mr. and Mrs. Ed Jesse of Lodi, Calif., were here last week end at the homes of Mrs. Jesse's sons, Mr. and Mrs. Rus-sel Rus-sel Mayer, Mr. and Mrs. James Mayer, and Mr. and Mrs. George ! Mayer. Jim Jesse has returned to North Dakota to start spring work on his farm. Mrs. Jesse will remain in Milford at the home of her mother, Mrs. Arbi- teen Davis, until Milford high- school graduation and will then join her husband. Master Billy Rummler of Parowan spent the week end at the home of Mitchell Baxter. ' Mr. and Mrs. Frank Phillips of Rudyard, Mont., spent Friday Fri-day and Saturday visiting two old 384th Field Artillery buddies bud-dies of World War I, Kent Smith and Bert Smithson. They spent Friday night with Kent, then all went to the Smithson Ranch . Saturday to spend the day and night, leaving Sunday morning. It was an interesting session of exchanging stories of 38 years ago. Mr. Phillips is a wheat rancher. |
