Show tlbe flews from JSeavev By LO ANN SMITH V Milford News County Seat Reporter Phone HEmlock 8-2352 I 'DUST BOWL' HIGHWAY MEET HELD IN BEAVER At a recent meeting in the Beaver County Court House, attended by county commissioners commission-ers of Beaver and Iron Counties, representatives of the Utah State Road Commission, the Bureau of Land Management, Soil Conservation Service and the Beaver Valley Grazing Association, As-sociation, the problem of eliminating elim-inating the "dust bowl" condi--' tions in the Buckhorn area of Iron County was discussed. The meeting was called by the Iron County Commission, and Commissioner Jess Guymon presided. Sheridan Fiak and R. G. Gillis represented the State Road Commission, and Lyman Sevy, H. L. Tolley, J. Frank Smith and DeWayne Carter were other commissioners commission-ers present, along with representatives repre-sentatives of the Bureau of Land Management and Soil Conservation Con-servation Service, and approximately approxi-mately 20 members oil the Beav-x Beav-x - er Valley Grazing Association. Commissioner Guymon reported report-ed that many complaints and much pressure was being exerted exert-ed on Iron County to correct the hazardous condition along U S 91 in that area, and he cited numerous accidents, including one accident which was fatal to five persons, as well as other inconveniences and discomforts to the motoring public. It was further pointed out moval of some 500 head of cattle cat-tle of the Beaver Valley Grazing Graz-ing Association from approximately approxi-mately 5,000 acres of land, of which about 2400 acres is privately pri-vately owned.
