Show i FARM CONVENTION TO ' FEATURE REPORT ON FARM LEGISLATION What legislation passed by the 81st Congress mea-ns to Utah agriculture; a report on other issues of interest to Utah farmers; farm-ers; a speaking program made up of top authorities in many fields; adoption of policy resolutions, reso-lutions, and election of officers for the 1950 calendar year will provide the highlights of the annual Utah State Farm Bureau convention scheduled for November No-vember 28-29-30 at the New-house New-house Hotel, Salt Lake City. Romeo Short, Arkansas farmer farm-er and vice president of the American Farm Bureau Federation; Feder-ation; Senator Arthur V. Watkins Wat-kins of Utah( and Mrs. Wilma Sledge of Mississippi, director. Associated Women, A F B F, will top the guest speakers list. Alden K. Barton, Utah State Farm Bureau Federation president, presi-dent, announced the speakers. Citing the increased importance import-ance of organization in ah age of strong organized groups in every segment of today's society, Mr. Barton extends an invitation invita-tion to every farmer in the state. ''The main purpose of the convention con-vention is to draw up a program of action for the organization to carry out in 1950, and that is a job that we want all of the farmers to participate in- There are a number of major problems which we must take action on, and we want that action to be democratic," he declared. |
