Show Of Interest to Women FIVE HUNDRED was played' at the home of Mrs. Audrey Skil-1 licorn last Wednesday evening by Mrs. Donna Christensen, Mrs. Carol Voorhees, Mrs. Helen Hickman, Mrs. Evelyn Brannon, Mrs. Margaret Arnold, Mrs. Louella Fisher and Mrs. Jean Hickman. The prize winners were Mrs. Fisher, Mrs. Voorhees and Mrs. Helen Hickman. Mrs. Skillicorn served a hot dinner to her guests after the game of five hundred. ft EIGHT LADIES played bridge last Thursday evening at the home of Mrs. Erma Cline. Mrs Nettie Kirk, Mrs. Grace Jefferson Jeffer-son and Mrs. Cline won prizes. Other ladies present were Mrs. Margaret Murdock, Mrs. Gwen Smith, Mrs. Loretta Cline, Mrs Llema Boucher, and Mrs. Metta Weston. Mrs. Cline served a dessert course before the game of cards. . ON TUESDAY evening, Sept. 27th, the Milford Ward MIA presented a fashion show, "The Hollywood Preview." Mrs. Alma Sly, dramatic director, was master mas-ter of ceremonies. She wore a dark tuxedo suit. The following male members who participated were dressed in ladies' attire: Bishop Carl Goodwin, Arthur T. Hansen, Max Williams, McCoy Williams, Leland Thompson, Walter Carlton, Carl-ton, Frank Jones, Rodney Fye, Jesse Earl Bowles, ValJean Williams, Wil-liams, LeRoy Griffiths and Larry Edwards. THE CATHOLIC LADIES of Milford will sponsor a parish - bazaar to be given at St. Brid get's Catholic Church, November 11th. Aprons, fancy work, cake and pie, and candy booths will be erected. Cards, bingo and refreshments re-freshments will make up the evening's eve-ning's entertainment, which begins be-gins at 7 p. m. Sister Hoffman was presented with a lovely corsage and handkerchiefs, hand-kerchiefs, with a friendly card. A very tasty salad luncheon " was served by Sisters Vera Waite, Jean Hickman, Vera Fitch, and Wilma Weston. Bridge and pinochle were enjoyed by all, with Mrs. W. G. White, Mrs. Norma Aagard and Mrs. Almeda Holbrook winning prizes. ft A STORK SHOWER was given in honor of Mrs. Helen Hickman, last Thursday evening, at the home of Mrs. D. N. Hickman. Hick-man. The hostesses were Mrs. Anna Mae Hickman, Mrs. Jean Hickman, Mrs. Evelyn Brannon and Mrs. D. N. Hickman. Monte Carlo Whist was played during the evening, with Mrs. Jean Eyre, Mrs. Mildred Eld-ridge Eld-ridge and Mrs. Margaret Arnold receiving prizes. Others enjoying enjoy-ing the game were Mrs. Audrey Skillicorn, Mrs. Alice Miller, i Mrs. Juanita Melton, Mrs. Dee 1 Ferguson, Mrs. Phyllis Price, Mrs. Donna Christensen, Mrs. Louella Fisher, Mrs. Neloise Schow, Mrs. Cora Canada and Mrs. Doris Gustavson. A delicious luncheon was served at midnight. ft DINNER WAS SERVED at 8:30 to the Gabridgettes bridge club last Wednesday evening, at the home of the hostess, Mrs. Dorothy Kizer. After dinner the ladies played bridge, with Mrs. Rae Anderson, Mrs. Maudell Crane and Mrs. Mabel Westergard receiving the prizes. : MRS. ALMEDA HOLBROOK had as her guests, Wednesday, Mrs. Lorelei Dawson, Mrs. Ruth Lish, Mrs. Jean Butler, Mrs. Nona Perkins, Mrs. Donna Christensen, Mrs. Faye Berger and Mrs. Audrey Skillicorn. Pinochle was played during the evening. Mrs. Lish, Mrs. Butler and Mrs. Skillicorn were awarded prizes. |
