Show TELLURIDE ADDS TO MILFORD POWER FACILITIES The South Milford pumpers and the citizens of Milford will both profit from action taken this week by officials of Telluride Tellu-ride Power Co. Mr. Clif Mc-Shane, Mc-Shane, district superintendent, announced the new projects Thursday morning. A new power line and a 1000 KW bank of transformers will be installed in Milford "in the iext few days," Mr. McShane said. The new line will separate ;ustomers in the south end of ;own from the business district, dividing the load and making for better service to everyone Eventually, Mr. McShane said, he line will be extended to the VT&T building, separating the ;ast and west sections of the city. On the flat, served now by a 6600-volt line, a newline will 'Y" the company's South Milford Mil-ford distribution system, raising the voltage capacity to 13,000 volts. With the addition of new wells the present capacity proved insufficient in-sufficient to handle to' load, Mr. McShane said. Other wells are to be drilled, i and it is believed the 13,000 volt line will be sufficient suf-ficient to handle the load for several years. The new transformer for Milford, Mil-ford, ordered last fall, was finally final-ly secured in Hawaii, and should be ready for installation some time next week. P.-T. A. BEGINS DRIVE FOR MEMBERS The active membership drive of the Milford Parent-Teacher Association will begin Monday, October 13, it was announced today. A house to house canvass for members will be made by a committee under direction of Mrs. Lillian Anderson. Last year's membership was about 200, P.-T. A. officials said, and they would like to have at least a 400 membership this year, with a greater representation representa-tion from the fathers. While making the membership drive, contributions also will be accepted toward payment for the piano purchased for the school last year. Balance due on the piano is $375. School patrons of Milford, South Milford and Minersville were asked to support the P.-T. P.-T. A., and give liberal support to the drive to complete payment pay-ment for the piano. |
