Show LOCKER PLANT OPENED BY CARTER AT MINERSVILLE Minersville's cold storage locker plant, constructed by Horace Carter, was opened for business Wednesday, With 200 lockers ready for meat, fruit and vegetable storage, and 200 more boxes io be added "any time we have the demand de-mand for them," Mr. Carter said. Constructed of cement and cement blocks, with large plate-glass plate-glass windows, the new business for Minersville is located next to the Frank Pryor general merchandise mer-chandise store. The latest freezing freez-ing equipment, fine porcelain-front porcelain-front boxes and drawers, and special meat cutting and pack aging equipment have been installed, in-stalled, and Mr. Carter announces an-nounces he's "ready for the deer hunters as fast as they get their bucks." The new "wax wrapping," a late innovation in meat preserving, preserv-ing, is available at the Minersville Miners-ville plant. The meat is sliced into steaks or roasts, dipped in warm wax, and all air is sealed off until the package is opened. This process, Mr. Carter said, is the most satisfactory preserving process yet developed, and keeps the meat full-flavored as long as is desired. In the contest to select a name for the locker plant. 4 names were submitted. The name finally selected, "Silver Maple Locker plant,'" was submitted by Eloise Murdock, Mur-dock, who was awarded an Admiral combination record player and radio. Mrs. Freida Wood, Clarence Gillins.
