Show JACK GOODWIN FETED AT PARTY A farewell Testimonial for Jack Bond Goodwin, son of Bishop George C. Goodwin and Cuna Bond Goodwin, was held Monday evening. Oct. 6, in the Milford Ward L. D. S. chapel. Mr. Goodwin has entered the Salt Lake City training class, preparatory to leaving for an L. D. S. mission field. A splendid program was given under the direction of the M. I. Mission Mis-sion home in Salt Lake. Mrs. Roma Carlton conducting Invocation was by Rudolph Nielsen. Niel-sen. Bonnie Tomsik played a piano solo. Remarks, Dale Stauf-fer; Stauf-fer; saxophone solo, Sherline Barnes. Address, Aird Merkeley of the Beaver Stake Presidency. An original poem of personal missionary experiences was read by Mr. Gronning. Song, girls' quartet, Betty Sue i Hickman, Patsy Evans, Patsy Fowles and Bonnie Baxter. Song, Carlyle Gronning. Remarks were offered by Mrs. Goodwin, Jack Goodwin, Bishop Goodwin and Mary Goodwin oi Beaver, Jack's grandmother, and Mrs. Amenia Bond, also a grandmother grand-mother of the honored guest, was present. Other Beaver visitors included includ-ed Stake President A. Carlof Murdock, Counselors Mark Woolsey and Mrs. Woolsey. After the program there was dancing in the recreation hall. Delicious doughnuts and punch were served. The interesting program, the successful party and the fine things said of Jack by those who know and love him, most express the deep regard and admiration that all feel for him, and the faith they have in his becoming a successful missionary. Bishop and Mrs. Goodwin and Jack expressed their sincere ap preciation for the tokens of es teem, and especially thanked all who took part in the affair, and those who contributed to Jack's going away expenses. Mr. Gronning Gron-ning announced that all well-wishers well-wishers who were unable to attend at-tend the party, and wish to make contributions, may address them to him, for forwarding to Jack. |
