Show SHS 'Senior of the Week' mtBtS0 JmW Owen Boyer is the Senior Student of the Week at Spring--ville High this week. He is the son of Carl and Ruth Boyer Boy-er of 1024 Hillcrest Drivo. Owen is presently serving as Senior class president and Is proving to be a very able leader. lea-der. He is a member of the National Na-tional Forensics League (NFL) and has been active for 3 years. He participated in the state forensics competition in Salt Lake City last year. In his sophomore year he wan on the Springville High tennis team. He is also an active member of the ski club. Although Owen's activities keep him ousy he remains re-mains high in scholastic standings stand-ings with a 3.5 grade point average. Owen is an active member of the Springville Seventh Ward and has participated in church basketball and baseball programs. pro-grams. He has graduated fiom the Seminary program. He has received 4 individual awards and his Duty to God Award. Among his many interests he especially enjoys skiing, hunting hunt-ing and tennis and is a mem-her mem-her of the Sundance Ski Team. He plans to further his education edu-cation at BYU or Ricks College. Col-lege. He hopes to major in the field of law. Owen Boyer Bourbon Street, Harlem and other jazz centers will be joined join-ed by Brigham Young University Univer-sity as the Provo school cele-. brates "Jazz Week '70" November No-vember 10-15. Lectures, recitals and a concert con-cert by a nationally-known jazz group are all slated to expose students, faculty and visitors to the unique world of jazz. |
