Show First graders to be library guests during National Book Week event Springville's public library will join in celebrating the 50th anniversary of National Children's Child-ren's Book Week, November 16 to 22, with two special programs. The week has been proclaimed by both President Nixon and Governor Rampton. The theme of book week this year is "Book Power." Special exhibits and displays of books will be arranged to carry out the theme. Thursday, November 20 at 4 p.m., a story hour will be held featuring a special program pro-gram and a candy treat. Saturday, November 22, beginning be-ginning at 2 p.m. the annual party for the first graders m the community will be held. All first graders and their parents are invited to attend. The purpose pur-pose of this party is to celebrate cele-brate the fact that first graders grad-ers are old enough to have their own library cards. One of the special features of this party will be the appearance of the "Story Princess" who will tell several stories to the children. Following the program, the new cards will be handed out and refreshments served. |
