Mrs. Leonard Zobell was installed in-stalled president of VFW Auxiliary at dinner-meeting. VFW, Auxiliary install officers at business-dinner meeting Mr .and Mrs. Leonard Zobell were installed as presidents of their respective VFW posts at a dinner-business meeting held Saturday night at the Oak Crest Inn. Mr. Zobell was made commander of Post 5787 while Mrs Zobell was installed auxiliary aux-iliary president. "Keep SpringviHe on. the Top" was the theme of the dinner meeting. The local post ranks near the top, holding second place in the state in gains in membership with 147 members. Daniel B. Alleman, Spanish Fork, commander of Springville Spring-ville Post 5787 VFW acted as emcee. It was impressive to begin the meeting with the pledge to the American Flag, followed by prayer given by Commander Alleman. The tables were beautiful with artistic floral arrangements. State Commander Chick Paris, Par-is, Magna, addressed the group and praised the outstanding work of Post 5787 VFW of Springville, and Commander Dan B. Alleman was applauded as having served as a great commander. Commander Alleman in respect re-spect to his wife, Ruth Alleman, Alle-man, surprised her with a lovely love-ly gift of appreciation for her support while serving as com mander for the past two years. Highlighting the evening was the installtion of new officers. Betty Bringhurst, installed the auxiliary officers: President, Presi-dent, Vera Zobell; Sr. vice president, Ruth Alleman; Jr. vice president, Una Strange; treasurer, Marie Hansen; chaplain, chap-lain, Madeline Titus; and secretary, sec-retary, Betty Bringhurst. Ma-,rie Ma-,rie Mason is the outgoing president. pres-ident. State commander, Chick Par-ris, Par-ris, Installed the new officers for the men. Commander of Post 5787 of Springville VFW, Leonard E Zobell; Sr. vice commander, John O. Titus; Jr. vice commander, Jack Rowland; Row-land; quartermaster, Roland S. Hansen; advocate, LaMar Frost; chaplain, Lavar Nelson and suregon, William Nielsen. One year trustee, James H. Mason; two year trustee, Wells Bringhurst; three year trustee, Daniel B. Alleman, outgoing commander. State officers attending from the State of "Utah VFW were Jack Mack, quartermaster; Lee Gregerson, service officer; Tom Miller, Clearfield, Jr. vice commander com-mander and James Mason, Springville, Sr. vice commander. Mildred Ream, Spanish Fork, was a special guest as news reporter. |
