Show Nebo Board runs into problems with citizens in south areas rejected one order because it would delay completing the building by ten days. The board approved $150 for the Spanish Fork Junior Livestock Live-stock Show again this year. The Board of Education of Nebo School District met in regular session in the district office April 12 with all members mem-bers present. A total of 91 citizens from the Goshen and Santaquin areas requested to meet with the board regarding sending their students to Payson Junior High. A tabulation of the question: "Do you want to bus our 8th and 9th grade students to Pay-son?" Wednesday meeting In a special board meeting last Wednesday -night a motion was made by Dr. William H. Sorenson and seconded by Glenn W. Coffman, that the board allow the sixth, seventh, eighth and ninth grade students stu-dents from Genola to be transferred trans-ferred to the Payson Middle School and the Payson Junior High School during the 1967-68 school year only as per requests by patrons of the Genola area. The motion also provided that eighth and ninth grade students from Goshen and Santaquin Junior High Schools be transported trans-ported to the Payson Junior High School for the 1967-68 year, only if they elect to do so. Further details were contained con-tained in the motion but the motion concluded that the board clarify the fact that this motion carried no intent of coercion co-ercion in any way and that the program the parent and child elects is in response to numerous num-erous requests for public participation par-ticipation in this decision. Further Fur-ther action will be dependent upon the signed statements of decision of parents affected which were circulated and returned re-turned to the board last Friday. Fri-day. Building construction under contract showed total contracts con-tracts amounting to $5,384,053.-37 $5,384,053.-37 with payments to date amounting to $3,502,824.73 leaving leav-ing an unpaid balance of $1,-881,228.64 $1,-881,228.64 on total contracts. Because Payson's new school building was progressing too slowly, contractors had been instructed to increase the number num-ber of masons and this had been upped to 18 masons.
