Show Camp Kolob DUP names officers Members of Camp Kolob met at the home of Mary Petersen, Pe-tersen, Thursday, March 11, with Captain Mable Brown presiding pre-siding and conducting. Historian Permelia Felix gave a history of "The Black-hawk Black-hawk War," taken from the Utah County Centennial Book, "Memories That Live." The war with Blackhawk and his followers was mostly over the Indians stealing the pioneers belongings, including horses and cattle. The war lasted two years. The lesson, "The people who came on the first trains," was presented by Adele Nielson. The new officers elected in the camp are. Grace Richmond, captain; Mary Christensen, first vice-captain; Adele Nielson, Niel-son, second vice-captain; Mar-jorie Mar-jorie Day, secretary treasurer; Maggie Daley, registrar; Addie Adams, parliamentarian; Flossie Flos-sie Sanford, class leader; Rhoda Huff, historian; Mary Petersen, chorister; assistant, Allean Lopez; Lo-pez; Flora Maiben, chaplain; Lula Shepherd, cheer leader. At the conclusion of the meeting, hostesses Mary Petersen Peter-sen and Addie Adams served refreshments to 14 camp members. |
