Show Mapleton man retires from state position In a recent article in the Wyoming Eagle, a newspaper published at Cheyenne, Wyo., is a story of a former Mapleton man which should be of special spec-ial interest to his friends in this area. The opening paragraph para-graph notes, "J. R. (Ray) Bromley who began his career as a roadman at Lusk, Wyo., in 1918 and worked his way up to superintendent and chief engineer en-gineer for the Wyoming Highway High-way Department, retired Sunday." Sun-day." An estimated 350 department de-partment employees from over the state gathered to honor him, including the governor of Wyoming. Mr. Bromley, who was known as Raymond when he went to school at Mapleton and graduated gradu-ated from Springville High School, attended the Brigham Young University and also University Un-iversity of Utah and taught school three years in Southern i Utah. He got his first job on the Wyoming Highway while on vacation in that state from his school job in Utah. According to the lengthy account ac-count of Mr. Bromley's activities activi-ties described in the Wyoming newspaper, he has seen many civic capacities including vice-president vice-president of Region 4 of th( American Association of State Officials, vice-president of th Western Asociation of State Highway officials and president presi-dent of the same organization He is a member of the American Ameri-can Legion, the Masonic Blue Lodge at Rawlins, Wyoming-Consistory Wyoming-Consistory No. 1 at Cheyenne Korein Shrine Temple at Raw lins and Chrine Club of Chey enne and Omega Sigma Tau honorary fraternity. He is also registered as i professional engineer and lam surveyor in Wyoming. Mr. Bromley reported tha J. R.
