Show Early settler feted Several Springville people were at Alpine Sunday, for the dedication of a monument marking the site of Alpine's first public building in that area. ar-ea. Plans for the early day building were made in the home of pioneer settler William Wil-liam Wordsworth, an early settler in Springville and who was also at St. George and other southern Utah areas. There is also a marker at Las Vegas commemorating his efforts ef-forts in colonizing that area. His descendants including Mrs. Abbie Ashcraft, 86, a granddaughter; also Mrs. Donna Don-na Whiting and Lloyd Ashcraft Ash-craft of Springville and Ruel Ashcraft of Kearns, great grandchildren; and Ruel's two sons, great great grandchildren grandchild-ren of the early settler, were special guests at the dedication. dedica-tion. The historian of the DUP camp at Alpine, sponsoring the movement, gave part of the history of Mr. Wordsworth at the dedication, taking it from one compiled by Mrs. Whiting of Springville.
