Show Elk season now closed; Uinta units now open The elk season came to a close Sunday, September 27 in the nine herd units where the hunts began September 19, this year. They are the Cache-General, Cache-General, Cache-Central, Cache-Cache-Weber, C a c h e-L o g a n Peak, Cache-Rich County, Ne-bo, Ne-bo, Manti, Ogden River and Salt Lake units. The department of fish and game listed four elk seasons now open in the Uinta Mountains Moun-tains where the season will continue through October 4 on the Bear River-Hole-In-The-Rock, and through October 11 on the Ashley-Daggett, Ashley-Vernal, Ashley-Vernal, and the Ashley-White-rocks. Three late season elk hunts remain to be held. These are the Browns Park-Three Corners,, Cor-ners,, Fish Lake and the Heas-ton. Heas-ton. The limited moose hunt on the north slopes of the Uintas also came to a close Sunday, Sept. 27.
