Workmen return to Mexico L after harvest . The last group of some 40 4 Mexican Nationals employed in 2 the Mapleton-Springville fruit harvest this summer, boarded the bus this week, for their 4 trip home. Most of the men J were in the employ of the Car- nesecca Brothers on their fruit farm and some had been here r since cherry picking time early in July. , j The workmen are mostly un- ' married fellows who were an- 1 xious to return home. And they appreciated the opportunity ; given them to earn money on the farms. Judging from their appearance, they spent consid-; consid-; erable money in the area as most of them were in new 1 jackets, or new shoes, hats f and slacks. X' E. J. Carnesecco. who has y been in charge of most of the , workmen, said that they ap-; ap-; preciated the fact that the men had no intention of settling in this area. After their work 1' is finished, they' are anxious to return home. He reported also that the men were dependable, good worlters and thus far have presented no problem to 01 their employers or neighbors. Those in this area are lj, among some four or five hun-v hun-v , dred Mexican Nationals employed em-ployed in the county during ! the summer, but of whom have already returned home, Mr. Carnesecca said. |
