Show Nephi readies Blackhawk, Stampede plans Way back in 1935 before many of the top contenders in rodeo's professianl ranks were born the Ute Stampede and Blackhawk Encampment combined com-bined for an outstanding celebration cele-bration at Nephi. Again next week, these two celebrations will be combined into one to highlight the summer entertainment enter-tainment season in Utah. More than 100 camps are expected to be established at the Nephi City Park for the annual Blackhawk Encampment Encamp-ment and up to 100 of the nation's top cowboys are expected ex-pected to sign in for the 30th annual Ute Stampede rodeo, which will be held, July 9, 10 and 11. Programs of top local talent tal-ent will feature the Blackhawk encampment, held daily at 10 a.m., 3 p.m., and 7 p.m., on a specially constructed stand at the City Park, 5th North and Main. The Stampede has been noted no-ted for outstanding parades, and this year promises to be no exception. Thursday's will be a minature parade directed by the Primary. The mammoth Uta Stampede parade will take the spotlight Friday afternoon, and the Bathing Beauty parade pa-rade and contest will be the eye-opener Saturday afternoon. Monte Young's carnival, main street entertainment and typical typ-ical Ute Stampede entertainment entertain-ment and atmosphere will make the Ute Stampede and Blackhawk a "must" on your summer entertainment calendar. |
