Show Parade Springville's Fourth of July parades will be on Main Street. This statement is made to clarify the uncertainty uncer-tainty that was circulated about town when the State Road officials told the parade pa-rade chairman that it was against the rules and regulations regu-lations to have the parade on Main Street any more. It was pointed out that an opinion of the attorney general gen-eral handed down also was against letting the parade be on the highway. However, phone calls to Attorney General Gen-eral A. Pratt Kesler, were made and Mr. Kesler reported re-ported that he had made no decision against having the parades and that hU office not only sanctioned such events, but said that the State Highway Officials were obligated to assist in any way feasible to control traffic by use of signs that a parade was being held. Mr. Kesler further stated his office certainly was not opposed to cities carrying on Fourth of July celebrations and particularly parades. |
