Jensen, retired from Railway Post Office with 33 year service record Workman retires with 35 years record with RPO Clarence L. Jensen 10 So. Second East, retired June 30, after working in a civil service position with the Railway Post Office, 35 years. At the time of his retirement, retire-ment, he had some 950 hours or the equivalent of six month's sick leave accumulated accumulat-ed and not used. Mr. Jensen's retirement however did not last long. He began July 1, on a new job, but along the same line, working work-ing at BYU contract sub-station. He began his work with the railway post office in February Febru-ary 1929, leaving a teaching position in South Jordan. At the time of his retirement, he was foreman of the dispatch section at the Provo Post Office. Of-fice. He served some ten years on the highway post office from Salt Lake to Richfield, making the first official trip. For 12 years, his run was from Salt Lake to Marysvale and for seven years he was at the Salt Lake Air Field, and for three years in the Ogden office. Honoring Mr. Jensen a party par-ty of some 80 people, employees employ-ees with the dispatch section of the Provo office and partners, part-ners, entertained at a dinner Saturday evening and presented present-ed him with a transistor tape recorder as a retirement gift. In addition to his work in the postal department, he has always been active in community com-munity affairs and church work in Springville, presently serving in the presidency of Springville LDS Stake and previously a bishop in the 9th LDS Ward. |
