At least two Springville peo-irjjple peo-irjjple are known to have been in filjthe earthquake disaster area in Alaska at the time of the sjt.shock, Friday of last week, jj' Erwin J. Curtis, 87 South ; 100 East, got in touch with his wife the former Diane Snelson of this city, and his :ia! parents, Mr. and Mrs. Irwin (j.Curtis of Mapleton, Monday j ..night, to inform them that he ,is well and safe, t; He left Springville 1 Sunday, t;, March 22, to lay carpet in a fif.motel at Anchorage. Three cotdays later, on Wednesday, tMarch 25, Charles Hill, son gjTof Mr. and Mrs. Rolan Hill of Springville, went to the same place to work on the same job. 6f Neither men were hurt in to the disaster although the build- ' ing in which they were working work-ing was damaged and later condemned by the FHA, Mr. Curtis said in the phone conversation. con-versation. Mr. Curtis said they would return to Utah as soon as possible but at present there were two flights daily out of Alaska and the planes were crowded. He did not know just when they could get home.
