The question was: "Do you feel that your education at SUSC has adequately prepared you for the future and the professional work world." Tadashi Kina, accounting: ac-counting: "Yes. After graduation I will go back to Japan. I came from Japan. If I graduate from an American college or university, I can take a better position than by not graduating. My major is accounting, and I have two bachelor's degrees: one in business administration and one in accounting. Maybe I can take a good position." Bryan Jackson, political science: "Yes, I do. I feel that the education here at SUSC has given me a chance to get to know the professors and go beyond the classroom materials to actually ask them questions about what I can expect in life, and I think that the curriculum down here is well designed to suit those purposes. "Myself, I'm going into law school, and I feel the preparation down here is reallv good. To show how well it's being accepted, in the past where one or two kids have been accepted ac-cepted into law school, we've got seven acceptances ac-ceptances from SUSC this year that I know of. There may be others from other departments that I don't know of. That tells me that the program down here is suited towards that, the kids are performing per-forming in other areas and I feel very positive about the college." Meryn Lee, elementary education: "Yes. I'm going into education, and they have a really good education program. I'm in elementary education, and they have a really intense program. I'm in the block right now, and it's really intense. in-tense. We go to different schools, and we actually do what we're going to be doing in our profession. I'm glad where I went." KayeLyan Brook, business education and communication: "I think it has. I don't know about real life situations. Some times at school you think that this is just a school. But I feel I'm prepared to meet most challenges and have most of the skills developed. I've needed a small school." Gary Blagg, biology composite, certified in secondary and elementary education: "Yes, I do feel it has adequately prepared me. Basically, because I've been to three other colleges so I have something I can kind of relate too. ''Overall the educational program here at SUSC is equal to any major university that I have attended, particularly par-ticularly in the educational field itself. They have an outstanding education program, one of the best in the country. This is one of the few schools that you can go to that doesn't otter graduate credit in reading that you can got an undergraduate mninor in reading. "I've had a lot of experience ex-perience with schools in the area related to my educational program. They utilize a lot different types of teaching methods, field trips, unhands un-hands training and these type of things, and these are things you can ac tually go out into the system and apply." Geri Luna, psychology : "Yes I do. In fact, l t r a n s f e r e d from University of Nevada at Las Vegas down here because of the psychology department. It was highly recommended recom-mended from souk; friends, and that's why l came down here. They emphasize a lot of classes to get into graduate school. Like when I was going into U.NLV, for instance statistics, all you had to do is take one class of statistics because you get it down in graduate school, but down here you have to take two classes so you're already prepared when you get into graduate school to handle the work there." |
