Show Students prove abilities CEDAR CITY - Chad Lewis and Doug Her-mansen, Her-mansen, outstanding senior woods students at Cedar High School, have proven their abilities in competition at State V.I.C.A. at Brigham Young University and Southern Utah State College. Lewis placed first in regional and state Vocation Industrial Clubs of American (VICA) competition, first at the SUSC Industrial Education Day com petition and first at BYU Young Craftsman Fair competition; and he will travel to Louisville, Kentucky, in June to compete in national VICA competition. Hermansen has' also; done a fine job this year J competing at SUSC and BYU. He got a superior on his China hutch at SUSC. Boyd Esplin and Jimmy Ipson, two freshmen fresh-men students at CHS, provided Cedar High School with high hopes for the future in woods. Esplin built a tressle bench and a gun rack and took firsts on both. Ipson built a book shelf and took first at SUSC. . Other fine students in : woods : i include - Shawn Marchant, superior at SUSC; Greg Watson, first at SUSC; Craig Heyborne, first at SUSC; Clay Heyborne; Tyler Brinkerhoff; Chris Low; Cleve Weaver; Alan Pearson; Darren Jenson; Tim Starkey; Mark Covington; Craig Jones; Greg Forsyth; Gary Mackelprang; David Bosshardt; Eric Clark; Brent Anderson; Danny Beacham; Clair Jolley; Darren Lewis; Shane Nelson; Tommy Morez; and Jon Forsyth. |
