Funeral services will be today at 2 p.m. in the Cedar First LDS Ward Chapel. Interment will be in the Cedar City Cemetery. 15 years he has worked entirely as a gunsmith and small appliance repair. Last year he served as Seventh District commander com-mander of the American Legion Post 74. In June 1981 he was notified that he was selected one of 15 winners nationwide of The Commanders "Who Help America Work." He was invited as a distinguished guest of the national . commander at the 1981 convention in Hawaii this month where he was to receive a special membership achievement award. He had remained in the Air Force Reserve and recently retired with full honors as a Lt. Colonel. He is survived by his wife of Cedar City; children: Michael Jay of Bountiful, Nathan David of St. George, Marianne Ford of Richfield, Kim Alvin of Cedar City, Melanie Ballard of Hurricane and Lauri Baumgartner of Bountiful. Boun-tiful. He was preceeded in death by a son, Eldon Seott. ALVIN JAY HANSEN, 56, died Aug. 9, 1981, at his home from a heart attack. He was born May 17, 1925, in Delta to James Eugene and Hettie Leona Bulkley Hansen. He married, Leah Rae Washburn Wash-burn May 28, 1943, in the Manti LDS Temple. He grew up in Richfield where he completed high school, lie joined the Air Force in 1943, where he attended officers school and graduated as a second lieutenant during World War II, trained as a bomber pilot. He moved to Cedar City in 1956 where he worked lor Western Auto and later owned and managed the Western Auto in Cedar City. For the last |
