The uniqe aspect of the Cedar City ' stage, specifically that of the Adams Memorial Theatre, is the notoriety of those performing on it this week. The British Broadcasting Company is filming a segment of a thirteen-part series entitled "All The World's a Stage," written by Michael Harwood. The thirteen-segment series, dealing with various aspects of the theatre and its history, will take the 29 member cast and crew to the far ends of the earth before the filming is completed. Cedar City could be considered by some as one of those far ends. It is a segment in the series on Shakespeare that has brought the noted BBC people to southern Utah, Specifically, it is the uniqueness and authenticity of the Adams Memorial Theatre, located on the campus of Southern Utah State College, that has brought the group to this area. William Slater, executive producer of the series, commented on the theatre. "There is no such theatre in Fngland," he said. "We did a fair amount of research and it's a solid, good theatre." Slater especially stressed the need to have actors in close proximity to the audience while filming. "That is of paramount importance," he explained. Writer Ronald Harwood Har-wood lauded the theatre and Cedar City's cultural opportunities. "You've provided us with a marvelous . theatre," Harwood exclaimed. "It's a most astonishing thing to come to Cedar City and find this amazing cultural center. You don't know how lucky you are." Harwood, speaking at a press conference Tuesday, told reporters the BBC hoped to do as much filming as they could before live audiences. Utah Shakespearian Managing Director Fred Adams is as delighted to hav6 the BBC company : here in Cedar City as they are to be here. "It has been an absolutely wonderful experience for us," said Adams. He commended the group for their cooperativeness and warmth.
