Show Notice to Contractors Sealed proposals will be received by the Utah Department of Transportation, Room 627 Slate Office Building, Salt Lake City, Utah, until 2 o'clock p.m. Tuesday, August II, 1981, and at the time publicly opened for construction of a Bituminous Surfaced Roadway in Iron County, the same being that section of a local road from North Cedar City to Summit identified as Federal Aid Projeci No. SR-038K3). The length of road to be constructed or improved is 6.450 miles, and the principal prin-cipal items of work are approximately as follows: 616 tons of Bituminous Material and 1 1 ,200 tons of Bituminous Surface Course i " maximum. The project is to be completed on or before October 30, 1981 . Prequalificaiion of bidders is required. Prior to any bidder's receiving plans and specifications, it will be necessary that the bidder have on file wiih the Utah Departmeni of Transportation completed and approved, ihe required Prequalification Statement pertaining to contractor's experirnce and financial condition. The attention of bidders is directed to the Special Provisions covering subletting or assigning the contract. In conformity with the Federal-aid Highway Act of 1968 the U.S. Department of Labor has certified the wage rates for this project which are the minimum wages to be paid on ihis project. These rales are made a pan of Ihe contract documents. The Utah Department of Transportation, in accordance with the provisions of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 (78 Stat. 2S2) and the Regulations of the . Department of Commerce (13 C.F.R., Part 8), issued pursuant to such Act. hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively ensure that the contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement will be awarded to the lowest responsible bidder without discrimination on the grounds of race, color, or national origin. The Ulah Department of Transportation also notifies all bidders thai it will affirmaiively ensure en-sure that vi any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement, minority business enterprises will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response to ' this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, sex, or national origin in consideration for an award. A current list of minority contractors, suppliers, and equipment lessors is available and will be furnished by the Utah Department of Transportation, Room 608, Stale Office Building, upon request. Proposal forms, plans, and specifications are on file in the office of the Ulah Department of Transportation, Salt Lake Cily, and the office of its Disirici Direc- , lor at Cedar Cily, Ulah where they may be reviewed by prospective bidders. Speicfications, proposal forms, and plans may be ablained only at :he Department Offices at Salt Lake Cily, upon application and payment of a fee of $10.00, no pan of which will be refunded. Each bidder must submit a bid bond from an approved surety company on for ms provided y ihe Department or in lieu thereof, cash, certified check, or cashier's check for not less than Sit of the total amount of the bid, made payable lo ihe Ulah Department of Transportation, as evidence of good faith and a guarantee thai if awarded Ihe contract, Ihe bidder will execute the contract and furnish ihe contract bonds required.
