Show Sergeant retires after 25 years ax Utah Highway Patrol Sergeant Hyrum M. Ipson, 57, will be retiring from the department tomorrow after 25 years of service. Ipson is originally from Junction and has served in Cedar City as Sergeant since 1979, directing troopers in Iron, Washington and Beaver counties. He started his career in Richfield, working at the port of entry there. Five years were also spent by ipson in St. George working at (he port of entry in that local. Ipson then worked 13 years as a field trooper in Washington, Iron and Beaver counties before coming to Cedar City. "1 love the Department and have enjoyed my work," said Ipson. "I feel I've worked with one of the best' organizations there is and leave it with reluctance." Ipson went on: "I've appreciated the people I've worked with and enjoy working with people and helping them." Upon retirement the sergeant will make his home in St. George with his wife Jean. |
