Show 'Faith' topic of LDS forum "See with Eyes of Faith" will be the topic of the LDS Institute of Religion Forum Tuesday at noon at the Institute Building at 650 W. Center. Grant Von Harrison, a former resident of Cedar City and currently the chairman of the department of instructional in-structional science at Brigham Young University, will address the subject at the public forum. Harrison was born in Payson but soon moved to Cedar City where he graduated from CHS. After serving a mission to the east central states from 1958 to 1960 , he married Patricia Ann Urie of Cedar City. He received a B.A. degree in speech from BYU, and M.S in psychology from Adam State College and Ed.D in product research from the University of California at Los Angeles. Dr. Harrison is' recognized nationally as one of the foremost experts ex-perts in the area ,,of tutoring. His structured tutorial reading program has been nominated to the National Right to Read Program of the U.S. Office of Education as being one of the 25 most effective reading programs that are now in use in American schools. He is also the author of ''Handbook for Missionaries" and "Drawing on the Powers of Heaven." He is currently serving as a branch president of the Mission Training Center in Provo. Dr. Harrison stated that he "enjoys his family very much, especially coaching his ' sons' football teams." He and his wife are the parents of seven children. |
