Show Nominations complete, Beaver needs candidates Political conventions over the weekend pretty well wrapped up the nominations in Milford, with full slates nominated from the Loyal Opposition and Democratic parties. Meanwhile, Minersville has four candidates for the three positions, and Beaver has only two. Non-partisan candidates can still file in Milford and Beaver, but in Minersville the ballot is complete. An enthusiastic community booster. He served four years on City Council from 1976 to 1980 and is a member of several civic organizations. organiza-tions. Roldo Turner is the in--cumbent councilman. He was elected In 1979 to fill a two year unexpired vacancy. He's been a resident of Milford Mil-ford since 1922. A product of Milford Schools, he has been Involved In numerous organizations and activities as well as being retired from the Union Pacific. Nolan Davis, 30, was born in Milford and raised in Ely, Nevada. He returned to Milford Mil-ford in 1979. He has seven years experience in law enforcement, Is married with three children, and is a fireman on the railroad. Mayor Young has served the city for many years as councilman and the last four as mayor. He also holds several appointments on state agencies. Mikel Schow, 32, is another ntive of Milford and a product of local schools. Married to the former Gay Boyter, they have three children. chil-dren. Mike has been an Engineer En-gineer on the Union Pacific Railroad for the past five year. Only two candidates had filed for the non-partisan election in Beaver Tuesday. However, the filing deadline is October 9th at 5;00 p.m. and Clerk Bryant Lowe said he expected others to file by then. Both candidates filed for council positions. They are John Lookermans and Gary Haven. Minersville candidates are Dale Eyre for Mayor, V. Alan Wood, Dan G. Goff and Jeff Marshall for councilman. coun-cilman.
