Contestants will compete in four age groups, 0-11; 12-18; 19- 30 and over 30 for cash prizes. A bonus for the first three groups will be a chance to perform at the Utah State Fair. But there is much more to the Beaver County Fair than the featured entertainment. entertain-ment. There will be thousands thous-ands of entries and displays at the Fair Building, and the judges will be hard pressed to award ribbons and prizes. .You can spend hours looking them over, and seeing see-ing the accomplishments of your friends and neighbors. There is something to interest in-terest everybody from Antiques An-tiques to Zinnias in the Flower department. There are lots of home handicrafts, canning, baking, dried produce pro-duce and of course, fresh fruits and produce. There's fancy needlework, quilts, macrame, needlepoint and so much more. And you will revel in the Fine Arts department, photography, pho-tography, and arts and crafts, as local artists display dis-play their best works. But there is still more to the Fair. For those who wish to compete and spectators there is the Team relay race on Thursday at 9:00 a.m. Teams will consist of five members, two of which must be girls. Two will run, two ride bikes and one will tube a leg of the race down the Beaver River. It's one of the real fun events for participants and spectators. The rifle shoot on Friday at 7:00 a.m. wil pit boys and girls and men and women wo-men against each other in three divisions, shooting .22 calibre targets. At 10:00 a.m. there will be a 4-H Dog demonstration, and at 3:00 there are more 4-II " demonstrations and a dress review. Friday is Senior Citizens Day, and groups are urged to attend and tour the Fair from the Three Senior Citizens Citi-zens Clubs. A program will be presented from 3:00 -4:00 p.m. in the LDS Cultural Cul-tural Hall, but no dinner will be served. Saturday is another fun day for the kids, starting with the Marathon Race at 7:30 a.m. $100. additional prize money has been add-, ed by Minersville Feed for the winners in three divisions. ' The two hour Rodeo will start at 6:00 p.m. in the Fair grounds arena and feature roping events, both bareback and saddle bronc riding and the crowd pleaser, bull riding. rid-ing. Clegg rodeo stock is acclaimed throughout the Rocky Mountain area and many of their animals have been named for their outstanding out-standing bucking characteristics. character-istics. "Shagg" was named bull of the year; "Showdown" bareback bronc, and Headlights Head-lights got the nod as saddle sad-dle bronc of the year in 1980. The Clegg stock is rated excellent overall by the Rocky Mountain Rodeo Association. Association Cowboys compete throughout the season sea-son and boast a number of top hands who are rated on the national circuit. They, along with championship stock assure a big time ro deo for the Beaver County Fair Saturday. "The Fantasticks" which just completed it's season at the Courthouse Theatre will be the featured attraction attrac-tion on Thursday evening. The musical was well received re-ceived by Beaver County audiences, au-diences, and will be performed per-formed for the final time at the Fair. "The Fantasticks" Fan-tasticks" will perform on the stage in th,e Minersville Ward Cultural Hall at 8:00 p.m. Don't miss this one, and come early enough to catch the Barbershop singers sing-ers who will give a half hour performance before the stage play, starting at 7:30 p.m. And, of course, local talent tal-ent is always a favorite. Friday at 7:30 local talent ; here's more about j COUNTY FAIR miles, Women three; Boys 4, Girls 2; and under 13, one mile. At 8;30 there is a 4-H Model Rocket Show. The radio controlled model airplane air-plane show starts at 10;00 with a demonstration at the Fairgrounds. At noon the air show will move to the strip on the Pass Road.about three miles from Milford. Flyers have been invited from Boise to Page, Arizona Ari-zona and a number of clubs are expected to attend. There will be up to six planes in the air at one time, and you'll see replicas of almost every kind of plane, as well as hmemade craft, doing loops and acrobatics. All articles must be removed re-moved from the Fair building build-ing between 1:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. Saturday, with the Rodeo to follow at 6:00 p.m. The dance with live music will follow the Rodeo at 8;30 in the Fair building, with live music.
