Show Form Bureau sues fcdGrnl AgonciGS The nation's largest farm organization has filed a lawsuit law-suit against several U.S. government agencies and officials in an effort to force them to control coyotes in compliance with federal laws. Frank O. Andrus, Sec. of Agriculture Agricul-ture Robert Bergland, and various other officials of the above agencies. The suit is concerned with the serious sheep and lamb losses from coyote predation across the nation. Utah ranks fifth in stock sheep numbers and sheep and wool cash receipts totaled to-taled nearly $21 million for the state's sheepmen last year. The industry adds almost $100 million to Utah's economy each year. Coyotes kill close to 10 of this country's sheep population popu-lation each year. Some lose more than that, a number of them are forced out of business busi-ness each year. |
