Show onto ndod Ross Marshall, Chairperson Chair-person of the Beaver Co. ASC committee, said the new Agricultural Adjustment Act signed recently by President Carter extended the disaster payments program through the 1980 crop year. ASCS disaster payments provide crop protection against severe weather conditions con-ditions and includes provisions provis-ions for prevented planting and low crop yields. "If farmers expect low yields on their small grain crops because of severe winter weather they should contact con-tact our office," said Ross. The program authorizes payments to wheat and feed grain producers whose crop yield is less than 60 of the established. Mr. Marshall advised that farmers keep an accurate record of their 1980 crop production and notify the Co. ASCS office before destroying destroy-ing acreages or planting other than grain crops. |
