Show OPEN LETTER FROK YOUTH COMMITTEE The Milford Youth Com -mlttee has asked me to communicate our policy having to do with behavior at our dances for the Young people of our Community. These dances are usually held at the Elementary School. The Youth Committee Com-mittee is responsible for the maintainance of appro -' priate behavior in the school building during the evening of the dance. Specifically, Spe-cifically, we expect to receive re-ceive complete cooperation from all the people at the dance to refrain from any property destruction; to not consume or bring alcoholic alcoho-lic beverages into the building; to not smoke or spit in the building; to refrain re-frain from physical altercation alter-cation (fighting), or loud verbal hassellng. Behavior coming to and . going from the building cannot be the responsibiity of the YouthCommittee. We feel that these are areas where the young people of Milford are learning about managing their own lives. We have confidence that they will make reasonably good choices, and even if they make mistakes - attending at-tending our dances makes a better environment for gathering social skills than cruising, parking or heading head-ing for the hills at night. In short - the Youth Com -m ittee chaperones are happy hap-py to work and share with our Milford Youth at the dances. We cannot and will not engage in police, or parent activity in homes, cars, or parking areas. We sincerely hope this policy is acceptable to our community, its parents, and our Youth. We hope to continue to enjoy your support at our Youth dances which are pretty much a 'break even' project; and really need everyone's support. Sincerely, D.A.
