They have rights which include the right to be respected and the right to be understood by than tear it down. Allow children to make decisions. Allowing them to decide what to wear, or. which placemats to put on the table for dinner makes them feel important and valued as a person. Listen to your childpend time with them. Help them see, hear and understand more of their environment. Little people also deserve to be understood. They want to learn. It's much more important to just stimulate an interest in reading and books, by reading to your child. A parent can enrich en-rich a child's learning more by helpinghlm become aware of the world around him than by teaching him to read. adults. One of the most important impor-tant things we can do for children is to emphasize the things they can do rather than those they cannot. Make them feel good about the contributions they do make to their home and family. Children are just learning learn-ing to do many different things - and all at once. They often make mistakes. Instead of belittling a child for his errors, encourage him to keep trying. Boost his self confidence rather |
