The County Health Board was again discussed and Larsen was made County Health Coordinator. Dr. Symond will remain as County Health Officer. Dr. Symond represents Milford, Del Roy Craw, Minersville, Keith Barton, Beaver City and the three Commissioners Commission-ers will make up the six man board. Larsen, the sanitarian, Lindley Jefferson, Jeffer-son, county health nurse, and Phyllis Symond, social services, ser-vices, will all lie ex-officio members of the board. Roberts reported that John Williams, executive director of FCAG had called, and the Governor's recommendation on RARE II wilderness had gone in with only one wilderness wil-derness recommendation. That one area is the Box Canyon Wilderness proposal in Garfield County. Larsen reported that the footings had been poured on the new building for Ken Bailey, but that work had been stopped until the area is zoned industrial. A public pub-lic hearing was set for November Nov-ember 13, at 1:00 p.m. The public hearing for Burton Myers rezoning is set for 2:00 p.m. November 2nd. They agreed to $4,083 for the legal defender for indigents in-digents for the next year. A request for $2,504 for the Alcohol Rehabilitation Center Cen-ter in Cedar City was tabled for the budget hearing. In a display of temper, hardly what you'd expect from a judge, Beaver Precinct Pre-cinct Justice of the Peace, George Rich, slapped the , commission table and said, "Pay me off, I resign," during last Thursday's Com -mission meeting. The situation arose, when Rich again came totheCom-missioners totheCom-missioners to ask for more temporary help in his office. He has been granted part-time part-time help for the past two months, and has a full time secretary. County clerk Dotson told Rich that if he'd spend some time in the office himself, he wouldn't need extra help. He indicated that Rich was not spending any time on the paper work, but leaving it all to his secretary. Dot-son Dot-son said, "I could hire a couple more clerks in my office, and not have to do anything." Rich provided no defense, just simply displayed his short temper, resigned and walked out. The Com mis son decided to talk to Rich's secretary, about accepting an appointment appoint-ment until the election on November 7th. Chairman Pryor went to get her to talk to the Commissioners, but returned sayingthat Rich had reconsidered and would stay on until after the election. If he resigns then, the Commission can then appoint the winner of the election to fulfill Rich's term to January 1st. Candidates for the position are Rowland Yardley and Henry Wilesen. Dan Foreman Fore-man and Rich were both candidates for the primary, but Foreman lost out and Rich withdrew his name just before the ballots were printed. He reportedly has accepted employment elsewhere. else-where. The firm was hired some months ago, to evaluate county employees and set up a grading system. It tcould be a very im -portant step in evaluating employees, and setting pay scales. Presently, there is little distinction between employees, except for fore -J. men. A motion by Roberts, seconded sec-onded by Johnson, will resubmit re-submit the maximum mill levy to the voters of Fire ' District 2. The vote will not constitute a raise in taxes, but would allow each district to reduce taxes from the present two mill levy s on the whole county. It will also give the districts more h freedom to operate in-J in-J dependently. Other groups should f schedule their activities and use of the building and i grounds through the fair ' board. ! G.I.F.F. had proposed to change their application for j a dry subdivision (plat 2) to I include one share of water I witli each lot.
