There will be committee jobs available avail-able for everyone who wants to help. The next meeting will be at 8:00 p.m. in the Miners-vllle Miners-vllle School on June 13. It was determined that it would be several years before permanent per-manent facilities could be built. In the meantime, the fair will be rotated from one community to another, with it possible that some events may be held In each community com-munity at fair time. Each member was to return re-turn to their community to asses the existing facilities and determine the availability availabili-ty for the 1975 Fair, and report re-port back. Committee Chairmen Chair-men were urged to form their committees, and get started. Seven of twelve members of the Beaver County Fair Board met In the Minersvllle Miners-vllle School on Thursday, May 8, to plan the first of what they hope will be the annual Beaver County Fair. A long-time project of the News, a Beaver County Fair got new Impetus this year when the County Bicentennial Bicenten-nial group dangled $400 In Bicentennial funds before the County Commission and they appointed the 12-member board. These Included , besides Editor Wilson, Elvon Spencer, Spenc-er, who is the first chairman, chair-man, Comm. Thurman Eyre, Donna Morris, Grant Esplln, Miriam Limb, Faye and Betty Bet-ty Marshall, Elizabeth Yard-ley, Yard-ley, Gordon Roberts, Pat Rlmpau, and Russel Mayer. Limb, Esplin, Yardley and the Marshall s were absent from the first meeting. Under the guidance of Spencer, the group decided they definitely wanted to make the fair an annual event, and set dates for the 1975 Fair for August 20, 21, and 22, 1975. Recognizing that funds for a 1975 Fair were scarce, if available at all, they decided de-cided to try and do the best they could with what they had, noting that the mistakes learned this year could be avoided in 1976, the Bicentennial Bicen-tennial year. Dates for the 1976 Fair were set for August 18, 19, 20, and 21. The object was to set dates as late as possible pos-sible to avoid the second cutting of hay and avoid conflict con-flict with other celebrations. This Is the reason for Wed-nesday, Wed-nesday, Thursday, Friday, before the Ely races begin on Saturday. It was also necessary nec-essary to establish dates for 1976 In order that plans and arrangements could be made, with some finality. Discussion centered around the type of fair wanted, want-ed, where to locate, cost, and personnel. It was generally agreed that the fair should encompass encom-pass all the arts and Industry Indus-try of the county, with divisions divi-sions for adults, youth, FFA, FHA, and 4-H. Seven divisions were set with division chairmen appointed, ap-pointed, and authorized to pick their own committees from throughout the county. They are: 1. Crops Russel Rus-sel Mayer; 2. Livestock -Gordon Roberts; 3, Arts and Crafts Pat Rlmpau; 4. Flowers Betty Marshall; 5. Home Ec Miriam Limb; 6.
