Show MATMEN BEAT COWBOYS, LOSE TO PAROWAN Mllford matmen managed only five pins and two of them were In exhibition In losing to Parowan, January 2, 18-48. 18-48. However, they came back strong In the match Saturday and romped over the Kanab Cowboys, 48-9, and two more pins In exhibition. Despite the lopsided scores, the matches were even and good for the most part. In Saturday's rough and tumble, the Mllford squad, under the tutelage of Coach Gay and Ass't. Coach An-drus, An-drus, chalked up seven pins and two decisions In regulation regu-lation play, allowing a lone decision and a forfeit on the opponents scoreboard. At Parowan Chuck Terry, Scott Symond, and Doug Mayer May-er scored pins for Mllford's 18 points and Shaun Symond and James Banks had pins In exhibition. Against Kanab the Tigers' McCulley, Terry, Scott Symond, Sy-mond, Mayer, Short, Cox, and Fillmore scored pins and Hlatt and Thompson decisions de-cisions In the win. Kanab's Kroft decisloned Mark Short for Kanab's lone win. Mllford Mll-ford forfeited at 105 lbs. and both teams forfeited at 185. Both Leko and Shaun Sy-mond Sy-mond pinned their opponents In exhibition as Randy Mayer took the count. Thursday, January 9, the Tigers will entertain Beaver on the home mats, at 7:00 p.m. Beaver has a very strong team this year and will be the host team at the State Tourney In Beaver late ' In February. |
