Show invitational Tournament Top Sports Attraction The Milford Invitational Basketball Bas-ketball Tournament last week turned in what was probably the best basketball seen this year by most of us. The ancient and near ancient turned out in the playing togs and turned in performances that were exceptional and showed much of the skill and talent that has gone by the boards the past few years and what talent they must have been. The tourney, sponsored by the letter-men's club of MHS was won by a team from SUSC in Cedar City, in an exciting and for better than a half, close ball game with another Cedar City Team from SUSC. Team No. 2 from Cedar probably averaged three to five years older and were just that much out of shape or it might have been a different story in the final game. Minersville played two cliff hangers and took home the sportsmanship trophy for their efforts. A scrappy little team they were edged out by Cedar No. 2 on Friday and then by Delta in the semi-final on Saturday. Sat-urday. Delta took home the third place trophy for their win. The Milford took the consolation consol-ation trophy home Saturday in a tough contest with, the Milford 3 Club entry. Other teams making up the eight team tourney were Beaver Beav-er and Parowan. Bob Chambers of the first place SUSC Stars was named MVP and Clark Dalton of the 3 Club entry was named Mr. Hustler for the tourney. He deserved this honor for his performance per-formance as a player and as a referee. All the referees donated do-nated their services. The all tourney team chosen chos-en were: White from Beaver; Pace from Delta; Art Stewart Milford Stars; Turner, 3 Club; Christensen Cedar City 2nd; Steve Smith, SUSC Stars; Golf, Minersville; Merrill Stahley, Cedar City 2nd; Calvin Stoddard, Stod-dard, Delta; and Tex Anthony, SUSC Stars.
