Show ( BELL TEL HOUR WILL 'JAZZ IT UP' Four top jazz performers, representing four popular but divergent jazz styles, will be spotlighted on the Bell Telephone Tele-phone Hour, April 26, in a color special, "Jazz, the Intimate Inti-mate Art," to be presented over KUTV Channel 8 at 9 p.m. Featured on the program will I be Louis Armstrong, trumpet; Dave Brubeck, piano; Dizzy Gillespie, trumpet, and Charles Llcyd, much talked about sax-CDhonc-flutist. Jazz, pernaps more than any other musical form, is a direct expression of the personality of the performer. Seeing them, at work in rehearsals, at home and performing for audiences, "Jass: The Intimate Art" will explore the personalities of the four artists. In so doing, the program shows how differently personality characteristics produce pro-duce radically different kinds of jazz. This will be the concluding program of the 1967-68 Bell Telephone Hour series. However, How-ever, on Friday, May 17, the Bell System will present "Discover "Dis-cover America with Jose Jimenez," Jim-enez," an affectionately-fashioned look at what makes traveling in the United States the enriching and enjoyable experience it is. |
