Show ROSS SMITH DIES IN SALT LAKE CITY Ross Smith, 60, Beaver bu li-nessman, li-nessman, died in a Salt Lake hospital Sunday, following a stroke. " Mr. Smith was a leader in bringing television to Southern Utah, and had maintained the relay station on TV Hill north of Beaver since it was first installed. in-stalled. He owned and operated operat-ed the Village Barber Shop. For eight years he served on the Beaver City Council. He was a member of the LDS Church. Ho was born July 14, 1907, in Beaver, to Robert H. and Caroline Carlow Smith. He married Vilda Murdock, Sept. 10, 1929, in Salt Lake. The marriage was later solemnized in the St. George Temple. Surviving are his widow; two sons, Ross Hal, Beaver, and Dan M., Brigham City; six grandchildren; his mother, of Beaver; three brothers and five sisters, Karl G., Shelley, Idaho; Leon W. and C. Victor, Beaver; Kathryn Gilbert and Ha Hig-gam, Hig-gam, Salt Lake; Vie Fothering-ham, Fothering-ham, Beaver; Iva Fink, Bur-bank, Bur-bank, Calif.; and Peggy Schul-er, Schul-er, Crescent Lake, Oregon. Funeral services were conducted con-ducted Tuesday in Beaver. |
