Show GALE BANKS GIVES POSITION ON DEER Gale Banks, Milford's Beaver County Representative, sent the foTGwu. letter to be read at the recent Governor's Gover-nor's Conference on Utah's deer herds: "I have been a resident of Beaver County for 20 t years. During these years I have been an active sportsman, sports-man, an ardent outdoorsman, an ardent fisherman, and prospective is my chief avocation. During these years, by personal observation, I have seen our deer herds decline de-cline from very good to very poor. I conducted a personal per-sonal survey in the last few days and came up with a 50 hunter success in the Miiford area. This was a survey sur-vey of the most successful hunters who have for many years harvested 100 in their efforts. I feel that, if the Big Game Board of Control cannot manage our big game in the best interests of all our citizens, then they should be eliminated and the Fish and Game Commission should be made solely responsible and should act as an independent indepen-dent agency in the management of our big game. I feel that the present system and policy is robbing our young people of a priceless heritage which could do much in the next few years to solve our growing juvenile delinquency problem. This also destroys one of the most important industries in the state. "Signed, GALE V. BANKS. |
