Show THIS AND THAT . . . WITH PAT o 1 Mr. and Mrs. Howard Cook left Monday for a month at Lantree, Wyo. Recent visitors at the home of Mrs. Marie Rollins were a son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Edwards of Stockton, and the Edward's daughter, Mrs. Janet Cook and children of Grantsville; granddaughters, grand-daughters, Mrs. Patsy Stott and children of Logan; Mrs. Karen Griffiths of Martinez, Calif.; and another daughter, Mrs. Virginia Grimes of Bountiful. Mrs. Grimes also spent a day with friends, Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Rollins while in Milford. Mr. and Mrs. Fay Anderson were visitors at the Joe Elliott home over night. Mr. Anderson was a Roadmaster here a number num-ber of years ago, and is now stationed at East Los Angeles. Betty and Vaughn McDonald of Mobile, Ala., are here on a 30 day visit at the homes of parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. L. McDonald and Mr. and Mrs. Dan Fergerson. Mr. and Mrs. John Lofthouse left by train Wednesday for Des Moines, Iowa, to meet their son, Larry, who will be released re-leased from an L.D.S. Mission Sept. 7. He has been serving his Mission in the Central States. The group plans on driving home in Larry's car and enroute will drive to Independence, In-dependence, Missouri; Nauvoo, Illinois and other places of interest. in-terest. Sunday night and Monday visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. L. G. Clay were friends, Mr. and Mrs. Graham S. Quate of Santa Cruz, Calif. The Quates were formerly of Garrison, Gar-rison, Utah. John K. Clay of Ogden, is in Milford this week on business and as guests at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. L. G. Clay. Colleen and James Adams and baby of Logan, were weekend week-end visitors in Milford, guests of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lorin Hutchings. "'"pkenrt snests at the home Of Mr. and Mrs. A. B. Merry- weather were their children and their families, Karl and Sallie Merryweather and daughter daugh-ter and Joan and 3erdell Corbridge, of Bountiful. The Corbridge's had their new daughter, who was born Aug. 5, blessed in the L.D.S. services Sunday. Jana . was the name given to the little one. The Corbridges also have a son. Sal-lie Sal-lie and daughter, Kristin, will remain in Milford for a longer visit before returning to their home. 0 Mr. and Mrs. Rolan Larsen and children spent last weekend week-end in Provo and Lemington, Friday and Saturday; they were at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Jumes Shepherd in Provo and Sunday and Monday they attended at-tended the home coming at Lemington. They were house guests of Mr. Larsen's parents. 0 Seventeen Girl Scouts and chaperons traveled to Lehman's cave recently for an over night camping trip. The Forest Rangers Rang-ers guided the group through the cave free of charge and in the evening a campfire program pro-gram was given by the rangers. Chaperons included Mr. and Mrs. Merritt Beard, Mrs. Rosemary Rose-mary Davie, and Mrs. Amie Culver. Tommy Hopkins, son of Mr. and Mrs. Bill Hopkins returned to his home in Idaho Falls, Idaho, Ida-ho, after spending 6 weeks at the home of the Roland Culver's. Cul-ver's. Ronnie Culver returned a visit to Idaho Falls, returning home in time to attend school. Mr. and Mrs. Hopkins were former Milford residents Mr. Hopkins was the A. T. T. manager man-ager for several years.' When the family left Milford, they were transferred to Casper, Wyo., and later transferred to Idaho Falls. 0 Mr. and Mrs. L. L. Culver of Idaho Falls, were in Milford the latter part of August at the home of their son and family, Mr. and Mrs. Roland Culver. 0 The City Council postuoned their Monday night meeting to Monday, Rug. 10, due to not enough Councilmen attending the Monday, Sept. 3 meeting. 0 E. S. A. Sorority held a Steak Fry in the Milford Hills Monday evening. Attending were Barbara McGinn, Helen Banks, Lola Banks, Lela Rowley, Row-ley, Enid Johnson, Gwen Ogden, Og-den, Dora Walker, Mabel West-ergard, West-ergard, Verle Horton, Selma Kirk, Rosemary Davie, Dixie Lamb, and President Jean Han-ley. Han-ley. The ladies will hold their regular business meeting Monday, Mon-day, Sept. 10, at the home of Mrs. Rosemary Davie. 0 The B. P. W. Club postponed their regular meeting which was to be held Monday, Sept. 3 to Monday, Sept. 10. The ladies la-dies will meet "at the Hong Kong Cafe. O Mr. and Mrs. Babe Ruth and Mrs. Doug Bolton were in Los Angeles, Calif., over the Labor Day holidays. They attended two baseball games: Milwaukee VS Los Angeles Dodgers, and San Francisco VS Los Angeles. 0 Mr. and Mrs. Joseph A. Terry Ter-ry of Enterprise, observed their 60th wedding anniversary Aug. 17 in Enterprise. A celebration was not scheduled because of Mrs. Terry's health but the family members had a get-together. Mr. and Mrs. Babe Ruth attended the family get-together. The Terry's are parents of Mrs. Ruth. 0 Roger Memmott, who has been employed as a Postal Clerk at a Postoffice in Palo Alto, Calif., and brother, Jan, who went to the California City for a visit with another brother, Douglas and family,' returned home by a jet plane. The two boys boarded the Jet at San Francisco and it landed in Salt Lake City. 0 Mr. and Mrs. O. P. Memmott are expecting a visit from Mr. and Mrs Douglas Memmott of Palo Alto, Calif this coming weekend. 0 College students will soon be leaving for the Universities for registration. 0 Gary Bingham left Monday for San Diego, Calif., after spending two weeks in Milford at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. F. A. Bingham. 0 Elmo Smith suffered a slight fracture of the hip bone, head injury and minor injuries, when his horse, Budding that he was riding, slipped and fell at the race tracks last Friday. Mr. Smith was taken to the Beaver County Hospital and was released Wednesday morning. morn-ing. He is now at home. 0 Three Milford High School Junior boys, Ronnie Culver, Hal Edwards and Roily Bacon were selected from the Junior class to attend the Freedom Academy held at Camp Williams, Wil-liams, Aug. 13-17, sponsored by Utah National Guard. Four days were spent listening listen-ing to lectures of, background and to trends of Communism; also other subjects on Communism Com-munism were studied by the Utah boys. |
