Show MRS. ABE MURDOCK DIES IN BEAVER Mrs. Mary Violet (Vie) Murdock, Mur-dock, 69, Washington, D.C., wife of former U.S. Sen. Abe Murdock, died Tuesday at 1 a.m. of a heart attack at the home of a brother-in-law, in Beaver. Funeral services will be coh- ducted at 2 p.m. Friday in the Beaver First-Third Ward L.D.S. Chapel. Mrs. Murdock had come to Beaver with her husband to attend at-tend funeral services of her sister, sis-ter, Mrs. Glen (Grace) Gillis, who died Aug. 18 of a heart attack. The Murdocks were preparing for the return trip to their home in Washington when she died. Born Dec. 25, 1892, in Beaver, Bea-ver, a daughter of William E. and Jane Dower Yardley, Mrs. Murdock was active in social circles and in Red Cross work in Washington, where she had resided since 1933. She married Mr. Murdock Oct. 2, 1913, in Beaver. The marriage was solemnized Sept. 8, 1925, in the St. George Temple, Tem-ple, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Surviving Mrs. Murdock are her husband; three sons and three daughters, William O., Boston, Mass.; Abram Riggs, Ogden; Dan B., Salt Lake City; Mrs. Jane Jaremko, Mrs. Hoi (Mary Violet) Christensen, and Mrs. George (Cinda) Singstack, all of Washington; 17 grandchildren grandchil-dren and two sisters, Mrs. Belle White, Cedar City, and Mrs. Gladys Oakden, Beaver. |
