"sv r y GEORGIA BETH SMITH Georgia Beth Smith Named 4-H Farm Exchange Student Logan - Two young Utahns have been named 1962 International Interna-tional Farm Youth Exchange delegates to Yugoslavia and Switzerland. Glenn T. Baird, State 4-H Club leader, announced announ-ced Tuesday that David M. Zaugg 23, of Clearfield, will go to Yugoslavia while Georgia B;th Smith, 22, Milford, has been selected as delegate to Switzerland. Miss Smith is the "augnter of Mr. and Mrs. George E. Smith, Milford. She plans to complete her studies in journalism jour-nalism at USU this March, prior to leaving for Switzerland. Switzer-land. She has also been active in 4-H Club work and has chairmanned several student activity committees and served on the student paper staff at USU. The two Utah delegates will go to the National 4-H Center in Washington, D. C, April 9, for a week of orientation. They will be in the first group of an anticipated 125 IPYE delegates who will live and work for six months with rural people ef some 46 countries this year, Mr. Baird said. IFYE is a people to peoole program privately financed by 4-H Clubs, local merchants, business and industrial firms, and individuals. It is conducted by the National 4-H Club Foundation Foun-dation on behalf of the Cooperative Cooper-ative Extension Service. The Utah Lions Clubs help sponsor Utah's delegates In the program. |
