Show . BEAVER CO. WILL 'GO DEMOCRAT' IF SCHOOL VOTE IS GOOD FORECAST Beaver County will again vote Democratic and there will be no "new faces" in the courhouse, if the straw vote conducted in the schools by the Beaver County News and Beaver Press is an accurate ac-curate forecast. In past years the straw vote conducted a week prior to each general election has proved uncannily accurate, and in 1956 the vote at Milford High forecast, almost to the exact percentage per-centage point, the national presidential pres-idential election result. Polling students in the Milford High School, Beaver High School, Minersville Junior High, and the Sixth Grade at Milford Elementary, Element-ary, with the students using sample sam-ple ballots furnished by The Beaver Bea-ver County News, and voting in booths similar to the ones used in the regulation polling places, the students showed "a very great knowledge" of voting procedure, pro-cedure, including properly marking mark-ing of scratch ballots, according to Jesse Long, social studies instructor in-structor at Milford High. The students gave Barloker a majority in each school, and he led the Democrat ticket by a wide margin, but otherwise they generally gen-erally followed the pattern of the normal adult voting in each community, com-munity, with Milford predominantly predomi-nantly Democratic, Minersville and Beaver leaning to the Republican Re-publican candidates.
