Show WIDOWERS MAY BE ENTITLED TO BENEFIT ON DEATH OF WIFE A helpless widower of a woman veteran may now be eligible for Veterans Administration Admin-istration benefits based on the death of his wife. Under a new law, the unremarried unre-married widower of a veteran may receive VA death benefits bene-fits if: 1. He isincapable of self-maintenance; self-maintenance; AND 2. He was, at the time of her death, permanently incapable incap-able of self-support due to physical or mental disability. Also authorized by the new law are dependency payments to an eligible living veteran whose husband is not capable of self-maintenance and cannot can-not support himself because of permanent physical or mental men-tal disability. |
