Show Beaver B P W Starts National Week' with Kick-Off Breakfast In celebration of national Business Busi-ness Woman's Week the officers of the Beaver B P W Club, with President Althea Low In charge, treated the mmebers to a ham and egg breakfast on City Park lawn Sunday morning. Forty were present, including state officers. At ,the regular club meeting Monday evening held at -the home of 'Lurena Burridge, a report was given by the girls the club sponsored spon-sored at Girls State. Mrs. Chase Murdock told of her trip to Central American with her sister to visit their parents in Honduras, and the Point IV program pro-gram in which her 'father is working. work-ing. The lesson, "International Relations," Rela-tions," was very well handled -by Mrs. Murdoek, who displayed souvenirs souv-enirs and answered questions. The Beaver club has been very active in tthe community. For several sev-eral years the ladies gathered funds to start construction of a swimming pool, which was completed com-pleted -three or four years ago. Last spring the club donated $500 toward a heatings plant for the ipiool. . . . . When television reached Beaver, Beav-er, the club presented -the TV committee com-mittee $400 to instal a channel 4 antenna. Each year the club sponsors a girl to Girls State. 'Last spring- a scholarship to C S U was given. During -the annual race meet, Ithe club handles the food and drink concessions to raise finances for projects during the year. 'Recently the Beaver B -P W club received a citation for "all -members remaining in the club," and this year several new members mem-bers have become active hi the group. |
