Show Bernice Thompson Bernice Thompson, native of Beaver, is Republican candidate for Beaver County Recorder. A daughter of Thomas and Emma Potter Baldwin, she married mar-ried Warren C. ("Tobe") Thompson, Thomp-son, in the St. George Temple. Mr. Thompson died in July, 1957. . - Mrs. Thompson is a "Gold Star Mother," her son' Douglas having been killed at Okinawa while serv- J I . Bernice Thompson ing with the armed forces in Worid War II. An active L D S Church worker, she has served as Stake Relief Society So-ciety president; Ward Relief Society So-ciety president and secretary, and is now first counselor in the Second Sec-ond Ward Y W M I A. She Is a member of the Beaver Business and Professional Wom- en's Club. Mrs. Thompson for many years -was associated with her husband in the retail grocery, clothing, and sporting goods businesses. Her son Terry is attending the University of Southern California Dental School, Attend Conventon Miss Elsie Hales and Mrs. Ruth Palce attended the State Librarian convention hV last week end in Salt Lake. They were accompanied by Mrs. Winnie Nelson of Cedar City, and were passengers in a car driven, by Annabel! Hales. |
